Issue 5

Six samples, translated from the Portuguese, have been selected for this round for translations of works by Brazilian writers of any form and genre. This round was supported by the British Council as part of the UK/Brazil Season of Culture 2025–26.

The six winning titles were chosen from a shortlist of 13 projects, whose translators were awarded grants to create samples of their proposed works and have received editorial support from English PEN.
